Velovision

  • Velovision is a cycling safety system. You can experience Velovision by downloading the iOS app from the App Store, purchasing Velovision Rearview from our Store. Additionally, you will need to mount your iPhone to your bike. We like Quadlock, but any reliable mount will do.

    The app connects to Rearview using Wi-Fi (hotspot created by Rearview), and uses the live camera feed to detect overtakes.

  • Download the Velovision App from the iOS App Store. Purchase Velovision Rearview from the Store. Additionally, you’ll want a way to mount your iPhone to your handlebars for the best experience. We like Quadlock, but any decent mount will do.

  • Many factors can impact the performance of Velovision instant overtake prediction (IOP) system, causing it to provide false positive or false negatives. These include, but are not limited to:

    • Poor visibility (heavy rain, snow, fog, etc.) or weather conditions interfering with sensor operation.

    • The rear facing camera is obstructed, covered or damaged by mud, ice, snow, etc.

    • The device is mounted incorrectly or at the wrong angle.

    • Existence of very strong electromagnetic or radio interference, such as near power infrastructure or heavy machinery, may adversely affect the Wi-Fi connection between iPhone and Velovision Rearview.

    • When in sharp curves, IOP is not designed to predict overtakes by
      vehicles changing direction rapidly.

    • Extremely hot or cold temperatures. Velovision App and Velovision Rearview are designed for operation between 0-40 degrees Celsius outdoors and non-stationary.

    • Bright light (due to oncoming headlights, direct sunlight, etc.)

  • Velovision App uses almost zero cellular data by default.

    Of course, if you turn on Velovision Relay service, it will use cellular data, at a rate of around 0.1GB per hour. You are responsible for any fees charged to you by your carrier for this cellular data usage.

Velovision Rearview

  • The Velovision Store is the only official retailer of Velovision Rearview. The comma shop accepts all major credit cards via Stripe. We offer $30 flat rate global shipping to all locations worldwide.

    Customers located in South Korea may use the Naver Smartstore version of the Velovision Store.

  • Two types of mounts come standard with all Rearview purchase: 1. Seatpost mount (27.2mm and 31.6mm diameter), and 2. Saddle rail mount. Almost all bikes will accept at least one of these mounts.

    As an optional extra, we sell brand-specific mounts for cleaner integration ( Specialized SWAT ). These mounts are especially useful if you want to use a saddle bag or a large rear light because it leaves that area free.

  • Yes, Velovision Rearview is also compatible with third-party mounts that are compatible with Garmin mounts.

  • Congratulations! Get started by following the ‘Setup Guide’ in the Velovision App. We find on average the installation process takes between 5 to 10 minutes.
